COMMUNITY CHANNEL - TVCOGECO

Cable Community Television is unique - in the way it focuses on the local level and how it can directly involve the community in the creation of these programs. Because of this special partnership, the Cogeco Community Channel can reflect the events and interests that are relevant to you and your neighbours.

Face to Face Plugged In!  Today's Windsor Passatempo Panorama Italiano

You can watch everything from local sports and politics to current events and the latest 'Celebrations'. Our 'Plugged In' magazine show takes you around town to meet interesting people and keep you up-to-date on what's happening near you. Other programs range from health care and educational issues to development concerns, youth interests and local heroes. "Today's Windsor" take you on a whirlwind tour of what is happening all focused in and around Windsor & Essex County and the people who live and work here. We feature the business excellence awards each year for our area.  Our programs include people in business who share their stories and help motivate you to grow your business. Even the largest companies in the world began with a dream whether it was a Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Hiram Walkers or Microsoft.  We want to encourage business growth in our area and keep our long history of a dynamic economy alive.  We also cover Windsor City Council and Essex County Council sessions.  For those who love sports  provincial hockey with "The OHL Tonight" and University of Windsor "Lancer's Sports" programming.  It's about who we are, and what makes our community so special.

PROJECT PROPOSALS

Thanks to our ever-increasing support and popularity, the demand for coverage of local events is very high. There are several questions we ask to determine the priorities for event or subject coverage. Here are a few:

bullet
Does the request fit within our mandate and regulations?
bullet
How much does this affect or interest our community?
bullet
Is it relevant to our local focus?
bullet
Have we provided similar coverage recently, and is it time to give another group or topic a turn?
bullet
What makes this event or topic unique or special?
bullet
Can we provide appropriate coverage with the available resources?
bullet
Do we have sufficient preparation time?
bullet
How much help can you provide with the production? (e.g.: Crew support)

After discussing these points we are better able to determine how we can help you.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Community television makes TV programs with the help of trained volunteers. You can become one of those volunteers. Our production facilities, training and free access are provided by COGECO.

In fact most of our production crews and on-air hosts are community volunteers who learned their skills at our studio workshops and many of the program ideas were suggested by local residents.

WE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Do you have any questions or comments about our Community Channel programs? Program ideas? Any recommendations or suggestions that could help us provide a better service?
